Waste Plastic Drums Recycling: Shredders Boost Processing Efficiency
Recently, at a recycling station, piles of discarded plastic drums were being processed on-site. Unlike traditional piling or incineration, a dual-shaft shredder was used for efficient crushing. Workers placed large plastic barrels into the feed port, and within seconds, the tough containers were shredded into uniform fragments.

According to the site manager, waste plastic drums are widely used in industries such as chemicals, food, and logistics. Once discarded, however, they are bulky and difficult to transport. Shredding reduces their volume by more than 70%, and the shredded plastic can be reused as raw material for plastic boards, pipes, and other products. This not only lowers production costs but also ensures resource recycling.
Industry experts highlight that accumulated plastic waste poses significant environmental challenges, while mechanical recycling offers an efficient solution. With rising environmental regulations and the growth of the circular economy, shredders will play an increasingly vital role in plastic recycling.
